___________akss2cents_____________

I read my first post on this blog and realized I made it to post my opinions and view points bout things happening around me…

But recently a few other things have saturated my mind and havn’t really been putting enough time into blogging

I though I'll round up all those stray thoughts and post them… read on if you wish.. I have to warn you though it's all disconnected and random…

__________

Ok first off.. the Project!!!!!!

Last two semesters have all been about this project! All my free time was occupied with thoughts only of the project! Cancelled parties and picnics and trips and all! I wish I cud now say it was all worth it!

I started off with it, hoping to prove to myself and others that these four years of Engineering were infact of some use.

With the uncreative and spineless syllabus that we are subject to “Engineering” in its true sense was an unknown phenomenon. Taking on a project that seemed too much for a B.E. project was my way of challenging my own beliefs and abilities to finish it.

We, the group PACARD seemed to be on the same page and decided to take it on with utter dedication. I wish I cud see the future then!!!

The only reason I use “I” instead of “WE” in this post is simply because I cannot speak for the entire group, I can only present my side of the story!

Anyways soon after the initial impetus we slacked-of, a little too much for my liking, there was always something shiny that caught our eye and we got distracted.

Ill refrain from pointing fingers, but things could have been much different had we put in enough time from the get go!

With a JackAss for a guide we have our work cutout for us, honestly I lost hope that we’ll ever finish this fucking project! But recently due to some reason the belief is back and I’m glad to say atleast some of the members are putting the time and effort this project needs.

On the other side this project has thought me a lot, (and I’m sure all the group members feel the same way), from PCB designing to soldering, from mechanical designs to carpentry! And before I forget “the penguin has landed!” LINUX!!! Never thought I’d have to venture into the murky waters of linux!

On a personal note this project has thought me a lot about the people around me, my friends and “not so much” friends alike. Heard discouraging remarks from many, and words of praise, gratitude and encouragement from many unexpected sources.

Ill stop talking about the project with hopes that next time I post something about it, it will say that the project is now COMPLETE.

I want to apologize to my group members for all the time when I’ve been overbearing and dominating , thanks for tolerating my nonsense all through this experience.

__________

About Respect and Friendship

I’ve always believed that the most important emotion you can have towards a person is RESPECT!

I don’t care if you like me or hate me, but if you respect me, it means the world to me!

A simple “thank you” is not just a courtesy call, its a sign of respect and gratitude. Saying "Sorry" or "Thank You" doesn't lower your position, it only strengthens the other persons.

People often say words like Thank You and Sorry shouldn’t come between “Friends”, I say if you can’t show your gratitude or apologise to a friend you probably will never do it!

No matter how close a person is to you, show your gratitude for every little thing that person does for you. Acknowledging help that you have received doesn’t lessen you, it only makes the bond stronger.

I say this because I’ve felt cheated before, felt that I’ve wasted a lot of my time helping people I thought were my friends, only to see them not give a shit for me. (I know that sounds very self-fish)

I wish things had worked out differently, I wish I hadn’t lost so many friends in the last year or so.

I know it’s a sin to expect something in return for your deeds, but I’m only human, no godly Samaritan.

Do your friend a favour, say “thank you” next time he or she does something for you.

I'm obviously not an easy person to get along with, I only hope a few years from now theres someone I can call my friend from college.

__________

One for only her….

This one is to one special person, the one who knows me better than even my own self.

All through this project and anything else that I do, she’s the one whose had to suffer the most. Tolerating me, my temper and nuances is no easy task!

I’m sorry for the dates a cancelled cause of this project, all the times I said I’m busy right now, I’ll call you later………. and never did.

Thanks for listening to my mindless rants and not telling me that it was nothing more than mindless rants!

I hope we always have this friendship……if not more.

__________

Times, they are changing

Can’t help but think about the future, I wanted get away from Goa, from my family for as long as I can remember.

Now I have the opportunity, Cognizant is more than just a job to me, it’s a ticket to get away from a lot of things and make it on my own. Never thought I’d miss anything about home, but now the thought that next year I won’t be here (hopefully) brings to mind so many things and so many people I’ll miss.

I hope we all realize these following years will probably shape your entire life!

I hope everyone all the best for all their future ventures.

INTROSPECTION
BUSTED!!!!

Regular readers of my blog ( ahem...cough cough!!) will be familiar with a guy called Prajyot Naik, one of my project team mates is a shady character at best.

Recently Rajiv and I came across a blog, and we are convinced that its hosted by one Mr. Prajyot Naik alias Pacardi alias IndianMasala.

However as usual he denies all claims, and has no problem lieing to us to our face.

I URGE you all to visit the link and comment back your views if he is the host or some other phantom Prajyot????

(or copy paste the following url into your browser): http://spaces.msn.com/members/indianmasala

Please comment soon, its a matter if life and death! I'm taking a huge risk posting this article since i have received threats from Prajyot claiming he will spam my blog if this information is made public... please react quick!

Some Quotes I'v Compiled From The Internet And Books

Here are some quotes by some famous and some not-so famous people that caught my attention. Most of them are critiques and one-liners, but mean a lot more than meets the naked eye

"Never forget that it is the spirit with which you endow your work that makes it useful or futile." -- Adelaide Hasse (1868-1953)

"You laugh at me because I am different, but I laugh at you because you are all the same."-- Unknown

"When the only tool you own is a hammer, every problem begins to resemble a nail."-- Abraham Maslow (1908-1970)

"Copy from one, it’s plagiarism; copy from two, it’s research." -- Wilson Mizner (1876-1933)

Some lesser known quotes from one Mr. Albert Einstein....

Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. THAT'S relativity.

If the facts don't fit the theory, change the facts.

Example isn't another way to teach, it is the only way to teach.

Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results

Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex... It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage to move in the opposite direction.

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is to not stop questioning.

A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?

Gravitation cannot be held responsible for people falling in love.

Men marry women with the hope they will never change. Women marry men with the hope they will change. Invaribly they are both disappointed.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
